Jan III Sobieski Hotel Warsaw goes, angelo Hotel II Munich comes for Vienna International Hotels

Vienna International Hotelmanagement AG (VI) will relinquish management of the 4-star Hotel Jan III Sobieski in Warsaw effective 30 September 2011. Meanwhile, VI is set to assume management of a second angelo Hotel in Munich after the granting of the building permit at the end of June 2011. The 4-star hotel is slated to open in 2013.

The termination of the management contract for the Hotel Jan III Sobieski was preceded by a real estate sale by the previous owners, Warimpex Finanz- und Beteiligungs AG and Europa Fund II (a private real estate fund managed by Europa Capital), to an investment group. This company has a years-long working relationship with another international hotel operator, so that the change in ownership also foresees a simultaneous change in management.

Martin H. Lachout, VI board member in charge of project development: "We must respect the decision of the new owners. The trust in VI remains unbroken, however, as the management agreement for the second angelo Hotel in Munich shows. The first angelo Designhotel, which opened in May 2008, has already produced the satisfactory result of 77.5 percent occupancy in 2010."

The 4-star hotel, with a total of 207 rooms and 440 m² of conferencing space, will open near Munich's Theresienwiese in 2013. The furnishings, décor and design of the new hotel will follow the same concept as the previous angelo Hotels in Prague and Pilsen (Czech Republic), Munich (Germany), Bucharest (Romania), Ekaterinburg (Russia) and Katowice (Poland).
