Bay of Fundy, NS/NB – The Bay of Fundy premiers of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia urged Canadians to vote for the Bay of Fundy in the New7Wonders of Nature campaign today in simultaneous press conferences held on both sides of the Bay. The Bay of Fundy is Canada's finalist in the global competition, which draws to a close on November 11.

"Time is of the essence," said Nova Scotia Premier, Darrell Dexter. "We need all Canadians to vote now and vote often to make our spectacular Bay of Fundy one of the official New7Wonders of Nature on November 11."

New Brunswick Premier, David Alward encouraged Canadians to use any of the three voting methods to make their voices heard in the new 7 wonders Bay of Fundy campaign.

"You can vote through votemyfundy.com, or through the New7Wonders of Nature facebook page, or by texting the word FUNDY to 77077," said Premier Alward. "We know that the Bay of Fundy is a natural wonder deserving of global recognition. So, with just a few days remaining in the campaign, I encourage Canadians to spread the word with everyone they know and help increase the vote count for the Bay."

While results of the global competition won't be released until November 11th, Terri McCulloch, Executive Director of Bay of Fundy Tourism, who attended the Nova Scotia event, feels optimistic about the Bay of Fundy's chances despite being an underdog in the worlds 7 wonders competition.

"We know that we are receiving a high volume of votes from around the world," said McCulloch. "Our Bay of Fundy campaign was one of the most active in the competition. It has captivated national and international audiences, as evidenced by the amount of votes Canada has received from around the world on the New7Wonders of Nature voting map, and our momentum on the website's voting trends charts. We hope these positive signs will result in a final seven placement for the Bay of Fundy."

Both premiers urged Canadians to spread the word and promote the new 7 wonders vote to family and friends around the globe.

7 wonders voting ends on November 11 at 7:11 am Atlantic Standard Time. The New7Wonders of Nature Foundation will reveal the provisional results at 3:07 pm.
