The French island of St. Barthélemy (aka St. Barts) and Anguilla, a British overseas territory, are the most expensive destinations in the Caribbean. That's according to the latest survey from TravelMag.com.

The survey compared 30 popular island destinations based on their cost of lodging during this upcoming February, the high season for the Caribbean. The price for each destination's cheapest available double room (minimum 3-star rating) served as the basis of the comparison.

In St. Barts, travelers will have to spend on average $324 per night for the least expensive double room. That figure puts the white sandy beach locale in the survey's number one position. More affordable by a slim margin is Anguilla, which ranks second most expensive with an average nightly price tag of $285.

Saint Martin, a French overseas collectivity like St. Barts, rounds out the Top 3 podium at an average overnight rate of $261. The Turks and Caicos Islands, another British overseas territory, follows as the fourth priciest Caribbean destination.

Least expensive according to the survey is Santo Domingo, capital of the Dominican Republic, at an average overnight cost of just $43. Also ranked among the Caribbean's more affordable destinations are Punta Cana, Saint Vincent and Curacao. All came in with average rates well below $100 per night this February.

The following table shows the 10 most expensive destinations in the Caribbean based on the average rate for their cheapest available double room (minimum: 3-star hotel) during the time period spanning February 1 through 29, 2016.
