Bangkok -- This month, Best Western Hotels & Resorts is celebrating the 15th anniversary of its arrival in Asia!
2016 marks 15 years since the global hotel giant opened its first regional office for the Asia region, located in Bangkok. And to mark this major milestone, Best Western recently hosted a special 15th anniversary party!
This exciting event gathered Best Western's senior executives, associates, industry partners and members of the media at the stylish ROOF 409, The Mercury Ville in Bangkok, for a fun-filled evening that included special performances and a lucky draw. The theme of the party was "young and energetic", reflecting Best Western's 21st Century Asian brand image.
Best Western has a long history and rich heritage, dating back to 1946 when its first hotel opened in the United States. The subsequent decades saw Best Western expand throughout North America and then across the globe, to become one of the world's biggest and best-known hotel groups.
This success was driven by Best Western's timeless values of service excellence and value for money, which have won the company millions of loyal followers across the world.
Recognizing the vast potential of the Asian hotel sector, Best Western established its first Asian office in 2001. Located at All Seasons Place in Bangkok, this regional hub supported an initial portfolio of six Asian hotels, and laid the foundations for the company's subsequent growth.
In the years that followed, Best Western's expansion in Asia was rapid, with both hotel guests and owners being attracted by the brand's timeless values. The company moved into a larger office in 2007, located in Bangkok's Gaysorn Place, and then launched two new hotel brands: midscale BEST WESTERN PLUS and upscale BEST WESTERN PREMIER.
Now, 15 years after the company first stepped foot in Asia, Best Western's regional portfolio stands at 60 hotels covering more than 40 city and resort destinations in 13 countries.
And this is just the beginning! Best Western also has a pipeline of 40 new hotels which are scheduled to open across Asia in the coming months and years. This will see the company expand into brand new markets and open its first cutting-edge Vīb hotels in Myanmar and Laos. Vīb is one of four new hotel concepts recently unveiled by Best Western, along with GLō, BW Premier Collection and Executive Residency.
"We are incredibly proud to be celebrating our 15th anniversary in Asia, and delighted that we could mark the occasion with a party attended by so many of our esteemed travel industry partners," said Olivier Berrivin, Best Western Hotels & Resorts' Managing Director of International Operations – Asia.
"Over the last 15 years we have welcomed millions of guests to our hotels in Asia, won many loyal customers and made a lot of friends.
And with our exciting new hotel concepts launching in the region in the coming years, including Vīb and GLō, the future looks incredibly bright for Best Western in Asia, for the next 15 years and beyond," Mr. Berrivin concluded.
