Los Angeles - The Guestbook, the world's largest rewards program for independent & boutique hotels, is stepping up its expansion into the Asia Pacific and Australia hotel markets, beginning with the appointment of Peter Ollerton to Director of Sales, APAC.

Ollerton is a hospitality veteran with more than 30 years of experience providing technology solutions around the world. His expertise touches every corner of the industry, ranging from SaaS software models, analytics, upselling and revenue generation, broadband, Wi-Fi, and streaming video solutions. Ollerton was most recently VP of Strategic Sales & Alliances at technology-based training company Boost.

"Peter is a true pioneer of many products that today service the hospitality industry," said The Guestbook CEO and Founder, James Gancos. "He possesses sound technology, sales, and business development knowledge, and we are excited to have him join us."

In his new role as Director of Sales, APAC, Ollerton will be instrumental in forming new partner relationships in Asia Pacific and Australia. The Guestbook is opening up its network to the 3 billion travelers living in this region, which is also the fastest-growing area in the world for the hotel industry.

Independent and boutique hotels continue to struggle to compete against global chains and powerful online travel agencies. The Guestbook will lend its tools to enhance direct booking strategies and promote return business, enhancing competitiveness and introducing these properties to a growing "guestbook" of potential travelers, all with the power of Cash Back rewards.

"When I heard that consideration was given to expand "The Guestbook" to Asia Pacific, I couldn't wait to put my name forward," Ollerton said. "People in the APAC region love Cash Back offers, and once more hotels are deployed in the region, I think there will be fantastic interest. The global chains and OTAs have tremendous power in the digital and marketing arenas, and independent hotels & small to mid-size hotel groups cannot match the financial deep pockets of these two players. I want to see The Guestbook bolster the position and profile of independent hotels by providing additional tools to help them grow their business. We will see The Guestbook community grow very quickly as we move through 2020 and show the rest of the world there is a more rewarding way to book direct."
