HVS Hodges Ward Elliott acts for KKH on the sale of The Madrid EDITION to Archer Hotel Capital

KKH Property Investors have reached an agreement to sell The Madrid EDITION, on a turn-key basis, to Archer Hotel Capital for €220 million (€1.1 million per room). Situated in the heart of Madrid's historic centre just a stone's throw from Puerta del Sol, the 200-room property will include almost 2,000 sqm of F&B facilities and is expected to become the flagship for the EDITION brand in Europe. Currently under construction, the hotel is set to open in mid-2021 as the second EDITION hotel in Spain, joining the 100-room Barcelona EDITION which KKH also developed and sold on a turn-key basis. HVS Hodges Ward Elliott represented the seller in both transactions.

Foncia acquires Belgian Portfolio

Foncia Pierre Gestion has acquired a portfolio of three hotels in Belgium for a combined price of €57 million (€161,000 per room). The portfolio is comprised of the 172-room Ramada Brussels Woluwe, the 73-room Ibis Mons Centre and the 108-room Lido Mons Centre. All three properties are located near key governmental and business demand drivers, such as the NATO Headquarters for the Brussels property and a major Google data centre complex in Mons.

The Mark Hotel Berlin acquired by Ennismore

Ennismore, the London-based owner operator of the Hoxton hotel brand, has announced the acquisition of the Mark Hotel in Berlin, Germany. Post-acquisition, the 239-room hotel will be extensively renovated and is expected to open in 2022 as The Hoxton, Berlin.

LFPI buys the Advena Europa Hotel Mainz, Germany

LFPI, the Cologne-based German owner-operator, has acquired the 98-room Advena Europa Hotel in Mainz, some 40 km from Frankfurt, from its previous owner, Helmut Herfurth. The hotel, which is located in the direct vicinity of the city's train station, will be renovated by LFPI and will be operated by its new owners. LFPI already operates some 14 hotels in Germany, mostly under mid-market brands franchised by Accor, IHG and Best Western.
