Aparthotels Adagio, the European leader in aparthotels has announced its new design concept for all future Aparthotels worldwide. Developed by French Architect and Designer Didier Versavel, the new design concept will combine the brand's urban influences with a new soothing modern aesthetic to create a relaxed space for guests in the heart of leading cities.

Adagio offers stylish and contemporary apartments in urban locations, coupled with hotel services such as breakfast, cleaning and laundry services and often fitness and spa facilities - perfect for the modern nomad and for families with children. The design for the new aparthotels reflects Adagio's core values of comfort and flexibility, with its interiors incorporating soft colours, relaxing niches, comfort and refined functionality.

Each space within the apartment is multifunctional, like a cocoon. The furnishings are innovative and adaptable - work can be done at the desk, at the kitchen table, on the sofa or on the bed. The entrance to the apartment can be used as space to dry your hair in front of the mirror, hang your coat or relax and unwind on the ottoman while scrolling through your phone after a long day.

Aesthetics combined with refined functionality and technology

The innovative living concept combines stylish aesthetics with sophisticated multifunctionality, where refined living elements are able to be used in multiple ways. The room dividers transform into shelves; the daybed - specially manufactured for Adagio by Ligne Roset is ergonomic, the cushions are removable, and the settings allow different postures.

A concept that respects the Adagio DNA

"Everything has to flow" was the core idea for the design concept. The first step was to design the spatiality in such a way that it remained generous and did not look like a small space. Sophisticated use of living elements including chic room dividers and light curtains create a sense of spaciousness.

Visual game - all a matter of perspective

Everything in life is a question of perspective and view, and so is the interior design. The very way in which the entrance is arranged, which then opens up to a living and kitchen area, is a good example of playing with perspective. Traditionally, the kitchenette squeezes directly into the hallway area and immediately after that the bedroom opens up. The new Adagio concept departs from this and is instead a visual route - stylish pictures point the way. The areas are visualized and thus intuitively recognized without actually being separated.

Colour Play

Another essential feature is the play of colours and their luminosity. Individually expressive tones were chosen, but these play together in a harmonious way. Strong colours give character to the room - black gives strength to the kitchen and underlines its function. The living-sleeping area follows with a soft tone like a bright green or a delicate yellow - making it shine. This harmonious play of colours creates new perspectives and subconsciously divides the areas. The result is the feeling of being at home in a spacious multi-room apartment.

Multifunctional, comfortable and stylish - according to the urban spirit

Multifunctionality is another key element in the new design, whilst at the same time looking modern and stylish. The day bed, specially designed and developed for Adagio by the well-known French furniture design brand Ligne Roset, who is known for its clever solutions and outstanding quality, comprises ergonomic settings and removable pillows that offer both style as well as functionality. Other multifunctional examples are cabinets with plenty of storage space or the room dividers, which act as shelves at the same time.

About Didier Versavel

As an interior designer, designer and graphic designer, Didier Versavel is a true chameleon. Together with Julie Busson, set designer and interior designer, he combines the 1001 facets of a design and creates expressive projects, thought through from start to finish.
