Rueben Brothers acquire Baglioni Hotel Luna in Venice

Billionaire London-based property investors, the Rueben Brothers, have acquired the Baglioni Hotel Luna in Venice for approximately €100 million (€960,000 per room). The 104-room luxury hotel dates back to the 12th century and sits a stone's throw away from Piazza San Marco. The acquisition comes as part of a strategic partnership with Baglioni to help facilitate the rollout of the brand worldwide and is the Rueben Brothers' second hotel investment in Venice, where they also own the recently opened Palazzo Experimental.

Extendam acquires three ibis hotels in regional France

French private equity firm Extendam has acquired three ibis-branded hotels in regional France, including the 57-room ibis Styles de Roanne, the 66-room ibis Budget de Marmande and the 54-room ibis Budget de Pouilly-en-Auxois. The acquisitions expand Extendam's existing portfolio to 238 hotels and 18,423 rooms across Europe, with 46 hotels and 3,474 rooms in the 1-4 star segments in France and Germany.

Pontegadea acquires the Senator Playaballena hotel in Cádiz, Spain

Billionaire Inditex founder Amancio Ortega has acquired the Senator Playaballena hotel for €25 million (€77,000 per room), through his family office, Pontegadea. The property is a part of the Hoteles Playa family group and ceased operations in December. The 324-room, four-star hotel is located near Cádiz on the Costa de la Luz in south-west Spain, between Chipiona and Rota, and features a spa and a small water park.
