Casimir Platzer graduated from the Ecole hotelière de Lausanne in 1987, working as manager of the Blue Lake resort in Kandersteg from 1987 to 1989, then of the Belle Epoque Hotel Victoria in Kandersteg, which he has owned since 1992.

Founded in 1859 in Koblenz (Germany), the IH&RA is the only business organisation representing the hospitality industry worldwide. Its members are national hotel and restaurant associations throughout the world, and international and national hotel and restaurant chains representing some 50 brands.
