The Hoxton has continued to go from strength to strength in recent years, scaling its portfolio of open-house design-led hotels in key cities across Europe and North America. Locations currently include London (Shoreditch, Holborn and Southwark), Paris, Amsterdam, Rome (opened May 2021), New York, Portland, Chicago and Downtown LA. The Hoxton is loved for its authentic design, destination dining, memorable service, and tendency to do things differently. Always more than just a bed for the night, The Hoxton launched Flexy Time in 2019, an industry-first allowing guests to check in and out when they choose for free when they book direct. The Hoxton’s Good Neighbours fundraising initiative does good for the communities around its hotels, whilst Camp Hox, the brand’s incredibly popular pivot into pop-up summer camping and campervan experiences, takes the brand out of its four walls to offer its guests countryside adventures with Hoxton comforts.
Barcelona — opening spring 2022
The Hoxton, Poblenou takes the brand to Barcelona, just in time for the spring! The hotel will have 240 light and airy bedrooms; a stunning ground floor restaurant, bar and terrace; a shaded rooftop taqueria and pool; a basement events space that will host local cultural programming; and The Apartment, the brand’s unique and multi-functional meeting and events space, with light-flooded rooms that have views over Diagonal Avenue. Among the bedrooms, all designed by Ennismore Design Studio, will be a new ‘Homey’ category. These larger rooms will have their own lounge spaces and kitchenettes to suit different travellers’ needs and focuses on the longer stay market. The Poblenou is a traditionally Catalan neighbourhood, which has evolved in recent years into one of the city’s most exciting districts, thanks to a thriving tech and design scene. The barrio is now dotted with craft breweries, concept stores, design schools, and eclectic markets. As for the city’s main sights, the famous Sagrada Familia is just a 15-minute stroll from the hotel, and in the other direction, you’ll hit the beach.
Brussels — opening autumn/winter 2022
Occupying a brutalist-style tower building and the former Belgian IBM headquarters, The Hoxton, Brussels will have 198 ‘70s inspired rooms; a lofty double height lobby, bar and restaurant; a rooftop bar/terrace; and The Apartment meeting and events space — all designed by Ennismore Design Studio. The hotel is located just north of the city centre, a stone’s throw from the bars and boutiques of Dansaert and directly overlooking Botanique, Brussels’ botanical gardens which play host to regular concerts. It is also in easy walking distance of the parc Royal de Bruxelles and Palais Royal. The building will also be home to Working From_, The Hoxton’s coworking brand which currently has locations in Southwark (London) and Chicago. In Brussels, Working From_ will occupy five floors of the building, with open desks, studios, breakout spaces, and communal pantries on each floor.
Berlin — opening autumn/winter 2022
The Hoxton will be located in Charlottenburg in West Berlin, a neighbourhood loved for its great food and eclectic cuisines, and just a few minutes from the popular Kurfürstendamm (Ku’damm) shopping area. The Hoxton is settling into a former hotel, which Ennismore Design Studio will be completely transforming, to create an exciting and authentic addition to this elegant part of the city. The hotel’s design centres on ‘Rough Nouveau’: a play on the gritty and functionalist materials of East Berlin and the intricate, elegant patterns of Art Nouveau. It’s decorative yet rough, with faded palettes inspired by the Jugendstil buildings in Charlottenburg. The hotel will have 234 rooms in varying sizes; an open lobby, bar and restaurant; a lush green winter garden inspired by the former Romanisches Cafe, a local meeting point for artists; and The Apartment meeting and events space — designed with a 1920s parlour in mind and directly inspired by Mary Wigman’s lounge, the notable pioneer of Germany’s expressionist dance movement.
Shepherd’s Bush — opening winter 2022
Shepherd’s Bush will come as the fourth Hoxton in its hometown of London, and marks the first time heading west for the East London-born brand. The hotel will be located on Shepherd’s Bush Green, in the heart of the eclectic neighbourhood, well placed near White City and Portobello Road, and with great transport links for exploring London. Designed by Ennismore Design Studio. The hotel will have 237 rooms of various sizes including an all new and most affordable ‘Hideout’ category; a central bar and open lobby with laidback and eclectic vintage seating; a retro pastel restaurant, terrace and courtyard; a retail space; and The Apartment meeting and events space. Local art and design collaborations throughout the hotel celebrate the area’s creative neighbours as well as giving them a place to meet and hang out.
