The Centre performs regional and tourism research, as well as research-based development activities for the promotion of regional and tourism development in the peripheral areas of Denmark and abroad. The Centre was founded in 1994 and now has a staff of sixteen employees, as well as an extensive network of leading national and international researchers. The Centre is one of the leading tourism research environments in Scandinavia. The primary action areas of the Centre for Regional and Tourism Research (CRT) are: (1)Studies of Island Communities and Development in Peripheral Areas, (2) Tourism Research and Development , (3) Tourism-related Training and Study Programmes.
