Bairro Alto Hotel

Opened in 2005 as the first boutique hotel in Lisbon — and in Portugal — Bairro Alto Hotel quickly became a classic in the capital. Located between two of the city’s most iconic neighbourhoods, the elegant Chiado and the bohemian Bairro Alto, the five-star hotel is defined by its unique identity, blending timeless charm with contemporary sophistication. In 2019, it reopened after an extensive expansion and renovation project, with architecture by Eduardo Souto de Moura and interior design by Atelier Bastir. Today, it occupies a distinctive place in Portugal’s hospitality scene, not only as a symbol of luxury service, but also as a gastronomic destination and a privileged viewpoint to admire some of the most stunning panoramas over Lisbon and the Tagus River.
