The Priory Hotel
Well 400 years later the eponymous description still fits. In fact, Beauly recently won the title 'Best Large Village' in the Britain in Bloom competition. Beyond the cornucopia of flowers bedecking the market square and buildings, Beauly is in the midst of some of Scotland's finest mountains and glens. Glen Affric, Glen Cannich and Strathfarrar are on Beauly's doorstep. They are reckoned to be three of Scotland's finest glens. They are adorned with grand old Scots Pines, Wild Orchids and Primroses; they are inhabited by the Red Squirrel, Pine Martin, Deer, Wildcat and Black Grouse. High above these rich natural environments soar awe-inspiring snow clad Munros circled by Golden Eagles.
The village boasts an array of shops from specialist outfitters, coffee shops and a delicatessen to the more traditional facilities of banks, post office, butcher and baker.
Every Thursday night (June – Sept) we have entertainment in the square in the front of the hotel with highland dancing and a full pipe band.
This is undoubtedly a heavenly place to roam, to cycle, to pony-trek, to canoe, to fish or shoot, to play golf, or just sit in the sun by a still loch and meditate.
