Contemporary Swahili Chic, an airy oasis of calm and light, this brand-new Constellation Hotel is clustered around the old village square nestled in the heart of Shela Village on Lamu Island. Jannah is comprised of several village homes around the old village square, lovingly restored and redecorated. 2 one-bedroom suites, 3 two-bedroom suites and a penthouse suite.; all sharing a number of communal areas. Guests have access to a communal large, covered rooftop with spacious and divided lounging areas for sunny days with spectacular views, as well as a communal Contemplative Scented Garden (ground floor level, separate entrance), and a beautiful walled garden with three individual baraza areas. There is a second rooftop for lounging and having breakfast. All Jannah residents will have priority access to our three lovingly restored Mozambiquan Dhows (Noor, Khatun and Al Aina) and our beautiful teak taxi boat Tamra, all decorated to the highest standard. Sailing on these dhows, which still use the ancient way to harness the wind, is one of the great pleasures of visiting the archipelago: sunrise swims in the mangrove channels, day outings to nearby islands, excursions up to Kiwayu island, and sunset sails.
