Breakwater Inn
Breakwater Inn is a 35-room boutique hotel in Coastal Maine where the Kennebunk River feeds into the Atlantic Ocean. Reopening July 1, 2025 after a full renovation of the Harbor Building, the original 1880’s cottage architecture was refreshed and interiors updated by Hurlbutt Designs. Accommodations combine classic nautical elegance and water views with modern comfort, many with views of yachts and boats as they glide out to sea. Port Fish and Chophouse showcases a vibrant happy hour and local seafood alongside the finest cuts of meat for dinner while Mabel’s Pantry offers breakfast favorites. Adirondack chairs on the waterfront lawn allow guests to soak in the calming views of the cove from sunrise to sunset. Located on a charming, quiet street outside of downtown Kennebunkport, guests can stroll into town to explore the quaint cafés, art galleries, and upscale boutiques of Dock Square or away to follow Parsons Way as it trails Ocean Avenue along the craggy shoreline of the Atlantic. The hotel is part of a distinguished collection of Maine hospitality destinations. The portfolio includes Mabel's House, an intimate ten-room inn and several acclaimed dining establishments including Mabel’s Lobster Claw, Bob’s Clam Hut, The Maine Catch, and Robert’s Maine Grill, all of which serve innovative culinary experiences that pay homage to classic Maine cuisine.
