The De Siano family has been a prominent force in Italian hospitality for three generations. The legacy began with Arcangelo De Siano, born in 1925, who built a successful food distribution business on the island of Ischia, establishing strategic ties with the region’s emerging luxury hospitality scene in the 1950s. His entrepreneurial spirit led to the creation of Ischia’s first modern supermarket and forged long-standing relationships with iconic hotels and notable residents. In the 1980s, the family entered the hotel industry with the acquisition of Villa Svizzera, followed by Hotel San Lorenzo and Hotel La Reginella. Under the leadership of Arcangelo’s son Franco, the company expanded further, acquiring its first five-star property, Hotel San Montano, in 2008. After a period of transformation and growth, the family launched the luxury hotel Borgo Santandrea on the Amalfi Coast in 2018 with the Orlacchio family, which opened in 2021. Today, the De Siano family continues to shape the future of high-end hospitality, with a major renovation of San Montano debuting 2025, and the third generation actively leading the company forward.
