International Sommelier Guild (ISG)
The International Sommelier Guild (ISG) is an international credentialing authority in sommelier, wine, and wine business education, established in 1982 and operating across four continents over 20 languages. ISG's curriculum is multidisciplinary, integrating wine and enology, hospitality service and operations, beverage and wine business management, and culinary context. ISG's certification pathway — the Intermediate Wine Certificate (IWC), Advanced Wine Certificate (AWC), and Sommelier Diploma Program (SDP) — is built for individuals pursuing a professional career in hospitality and beverage management, progressing toward senior sommelier and beverage-management leadership roles in hotels, restaurants, and wine programs worldwide. Hospitality establishments also draw on IWC and AWC for staff training. ISG's Fundamentals of Wine (FWC) course offers a brief, staff-wide introduction — a single day covering core grape varieties and wine service.
