First IntercityHotel Opens For Business at Zurich Airport

Deutsche Hospitality is continuing to expand in its core German, Austrian and Swiss markets. IntercityHotel will make its brand debut in Switzerland when the first IntercityHotel to be launched in the country opens its doors on 1 December 2021 as the group extends its European presence still further. IntercityHotels are very much characterised by their central location, and Switzerland will be no exception in this regard. The new hotel is situated in the municipality of Rümlang, from where Zurich International Airport can be accessed in only ten minutes. The city centre is also just 15 minutes away. The project developer is Necron AG.

First Zleep Hotel in Switzerland

Deutsche Hospitality's young Danish economy brand Zleep Hotels is to launch in Switzerland. Construction work on the new build Zleep Hotel Zurich Kloten is scheduled for completion in 2023. The hotel will be located in a new quarter near to Zurich Airport, which will also be home to a restaurant, retail outlets and privately owned apartments. There will be 90 rooms, a generously proportioned lobby complete with a breakfast area and a bar. The Zleep Hotel Zurich Kloten will also introduce the "Hygge Standard" to the Swiss hotel sector for the first time. Transport links will be very good thanks to the presence of a public car park in the same part of the building and the direct proximity of Kloten railway station, which offers direct connections to both Zurich and Winterthur. The hotel will be operated by Säntis Home AG of St. Gallen, which will act as franchisee.

IntercityHotel Zurich Airport is taking shape

The IntercityHotel Zurich Airport will become the brand's first venture into Switzerland when building works are completed in 2020. Construction is now beginning on schedule, and a number of characteristic features are already emerging. As with all IntercityHotels, the USP will be easy accessibility. The IntercityHotel Zurich Airport is extremely conveniently positioned at Rümlang Station right next to the airport grounds themselves. Like all the brand's new generation hotels, its interior design concept will bear the signature of the Italian architect Matteo Thun.

IntercityHotel to make its brand debut in Switzerland

IntercityHotel is continuing its course of international expansion. Following the recent signing of an agreement for the IntercityHotel Riyadh Malaz in Saudi Arabia, the brand is now also planning to strengthen its presence in Europe further. A lease agreement has been concluded for the IntercityHotel Zurich Airport with Patrizier Beteiligungs AG, which will act as investor and developer, and more joint projects are in the pipeline. This will be the first hotel to operate under the IntercityHotel brand in Switzerland and is scheduled to open in 2020.
