Marriott is expanding in Belarus with plans to open a second hotel in the country. The 220-room Marriott Minsk Hotel is expected to open in early 2015 and will operate under a franchise agreement with Vienna International Hotelmanagement AG. The Vienna-based Austrian hotel group Vienna International is entering the Belarusian market in a joint project with the international architectural office of Moser Architekten Ziviltechniker GmbH. The 280-room business hotel is to open in Minsk, with 1.83 million inhabitants Belarus's largest city, by the year 2014. Contract partner and owner of the new hotel is Alexandrov-Passage GmbH, a Belarusian-US joint venture.
