Sofitel and Orascom Development Egypt Announce the Signing of Sofitel El Gouna, A Flagship Luxury Resort on Egypt's Red Sea Coast

Accor, a global leader in hospitality, and Orascom Development Egypt, a leading developer specialized in creating vibrant, integrated communities, are pleased to announce the signing of a management agreement to reposition the iconic Mövenpick El Gouna as Sofitel El Gouna Resort, a luxury resort. The property will undergo an extensive phased renovation program starting in 2027, transforming it into a flagship destination under the Sofitel brand, further strengthening Accor's luxury portfolio in Egypt.

Minor Hotels Enters into Agreement with Soma Bay Hotel Company SAE for Strategic Egypt Expansion

Minor Hotels, a global hospitality group that owns and operates over 560 hotels in 58 countries in Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, the Indian Ocean, Europe and the Americas, announces that it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Soma Bay Hotel Company SAE to develop a hotel under its luxury Anantara brand in Egypt. The first project under this partnership is expected to be announced later this year.

New Steigenberger Resort in Marsa Alam

A brand-new luxury holiday destination is about to launch on the Red Sea Coast. The 5-star Steigenberger Resort Alaya, located at the very heart of Madinat Coraya and headed up by Hotel Manager Ayman Saad, is scheduled to open for business on 1 December 2021. 290 elegantly furnished rooms are on offer alongside five restaurants, two bars, a generously proportioned spa facility complete with indoor pool, a further extensive pool area, a garden, and a gym.
