The 108-room hotel, to be located across terminals 1,2 and 3 of the Heathrow Airport, is scheduled to be operational in 2021.

IHCL owns and operates the Taj Group of hotels. The Vivanta brand caters to the upscale segment of business and leisure travellers.

"IHCL was the first Indian hospitality firm to foray into the U.K. with the iconic St. James' Court hotel in 1982," said Puneet Chhatwal, MD & CEO, IHCL. He added this was the first Vivanta-branded hotel for London. "This signing [of the pact] is in line with our growth strategy of adding hotels in key locations globally," he said in a statement.

Besides 'spacious' rooms for guests, this hotel will have an all-day-diner, a bar and lounge, a gym as well as banqueting and meeting space facilities, the statement added.

Additionally, the hotel will house the fourth outpost of Bombay Brasserie, known for its authentic, eclectic Bombay and Indian cuisine.

Talwinder Hayre, Director, Hayre Group Limited said: "We look forward to bringing the legendary Indian hospitality to London Heathrow, one of the busiest airports in the world."

Currently, IHCL operates the renowned St. James' Court hotel, a Taj Hotel and the luxurious Taj 51 Buckingham Gate Suites and Residences, in London, located close to the Buckingham Palace.
