Choice Hotels Announces Expansion of Cambria hotels & suites in College Park, MD.

Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE: CHH), one of the world's largest hotel companies, announced it has signed an agreement with franchise partner Southern Management Corporation to develop a new Cambria hotel & suites in College Park, MD. The 150-room Cambria property will be located at 8321 Baltimore Avenue and is expected to open summer 2017. The hotel will be walking distance from the University of Maryland which, with an enrollment of over 37,000 students, is the single most traveled destination in the state.

Southern Management Corporation (SMC), an experienced real estate developer/manager and hotel owner/operator, has owned and operated properties for more than 50 years. The company currently owns and operates The Hotel at Arundel Preserve in Hanover, MD and Bear Creek Mountain Resort and Conference Center in Macungie, PA. SMC is currently constructing The Hotel at the University of Maryland, a 297-room hotel and conference center, which is scheduled to open in early 2017.
