Opening Wednesday, Sept. 23, along with the hotel will be Dean Street Coffee, the Lobby Bar and Ella Mae's Diner, three of Luminary's main food and beverage outlets, while the rooftop Beacon Social Drinkery and Silver King Ocean Brasserie will make their debuts later in the fall.

In advance of the soft opening, the hotel will hold a private ribbon-cutting ceremony for the media and local dignitaries. To celebrate the official opening of the neighboring Caloosa Sound Convention Center, a public ribbon-cutting event will be held Saturday, Sept. 19. The event will also serve as the kick-off to the Fort Myers Home & Garden Show, the first public event at the new facility, and also the first event held at the opening of the original Harborside Event Center in 1990.

"As we've been working toward these openings, the safety of workers, our staff, and our guests has taken priority, making a soft opening the best strategy for managing seating and other factors to be consistent with the latest health guidelines," said Bob Megazzini, general manager. "Even with all these unique challenges, we're hopeful one or more of our new dining outlets may open sooner than expected, so we're encouraging everyone to follow our social channels for the latest updates."
