Dominvs Group, the London-based property developer and investment group, has today announced the completion of the next stage of their flagship hotel development in historic Aldgate.

The scheme forms part of Dominvs' aggressive growth strategy over the next 12 months, backing the hospitality industry as it recovers from the pandemic with the creation of a brand-new hotel just a stone's throw from Old Spitalfields Market. The new development will be sandwiched between the cultural goldmine of Shoreditch and the City, London's historic business district.

The development, at 12-20 Osborn Street by Brick Lane, was formerly the 4-star Arbor City Hotel and Dominvs' plans will revitalise the 1960s building with features that complement the surrounding historic architecture. The design will use a range of brick types, including London Stock Brick, as well as bronze coloured framing on the fenestrations.

The five-storey development has suffered no delays as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, and will comprise the refurbishment of the hotel, plus a new-build extension on the adjacent car park. Dominvs has now fully stripped out the existing building and started work on the refurbishment and extension.

Once completed, the hotel will have 278 bedrooms, having recently added 10 more bedrooms in a planning update. It will also have meeting, dining and events space, including a cinema room and large function room. The project is due for completion in July 2023, with the construction undertaken by leading contractor McAleer and Rushe.

The building was purchased by Dominvs Group in October 2018 and planning was granted for a brand-new hotel scheme in the fourth quarter of 2018, which is due to be operated by Hampton by Hilton upon completion.
