The Standard, Ibiza is now officially open and welcoming its first guests, marking the brand's second entry into Europe, following the hugely successful launch of The Standard, London.

With a fresh new take on the Ibiza of today while embracing the island's rich past, The Standard, Ibiza is a year-round adult playground located in the heart of Ibiza's Old Town, just steps away from the waterfront and a 20-minute boat ride to Formantera. Situated in the former site of an old movie theatre, The Standard, Ibiza is set to revive the energy of local crowds, providing a new buzzy hang-out in the Old Town for locals and guests to enjoy throughout the year. The hotel has 67 rooms and suites, including a private residence Casa Privada, a street-level all-day restaurant, Jara and rooftop pool and hideout, Up.

Amber Asher, CEO of Standard International commented, "Ibiza embodies the iconoclastic spirit that defines everything we do at The Standard — high style and an irrepressible sense of fun, passion and surprise. We're delighted to make our mark on this singular place and thrilled to welcome our first guests to the hotel. This arrival feels like a homecoming."

The main hotel design celebrates the uncomplicated sophistication of Ibizan life; Fifty-three rooms and suites occupy the streamlined, white hotel — a stark style statement attuned to nearby centuries of sun-bleached masonry. Likewise, soft materials convey a sense of calmness and comfort for guests stepping in from the town, and layering and pattern work achieved using different textures and colors, coupled with the clever shadow play of plants, add to the warm and familiar ambiance. The hotel was conceived by acclaimed Spanish creator Lázaro Rosa-Violán, with interiors designed by The Standard's in-house design team.

The Standard, Ibiza also hosts one-of-a-kind murals by artist Nicolás Villamizar. Inspired by music, dance and the connection between bodies, the unique paintings are a celebration of the fluidity of island life, and each have their own hidden message to be discovered.

Programming

What guests will discover at The Standard, Ibiza is intimately scaled entertainment-as-atmosphere, pushing Ibizan nightlife into fresh and uncharted territory. The opening season of happenings curates salon-style moments with friends of The Standard, old and new. Mood-setting DJ sets and intimate acoustic sessions explore the transgressive whims of the Balearic. Late nights begin and end at The Standard.

Drinking and dining

The eclectic, street-level restaurant, 'Jara', named after a flowering plant native to the Mediterranean, spills out onto Ibiza's iconic Vara de Ray, offering farm-to-table food and fresh cocktails. By day, picture a classic street side café-meets-modern brasserie; whether it be a laidback breakfast, a lively dinner before a party, or as the final stop after a day exploring the island, Jara has you covered. On the menu are dishes that allow ingredients to do the talking: vine-ripened tomato tartare expresses the agrarian staple at its finest, alongside paellas and other Spanish classics. In the evening, Jara is a social and culinary destination, upping the ante within intimate banquets and closed curtains, creating an atmosphere where anything goes.

The hotel's vibrant rooftop, 'UP' encompasses the unabashed fun and freedom that The Standard brand is known for, with its unique dining experience and a lively social scene. The sweeping views over the city's iconic Castle of Ibiza provide the ultimate backdrop to tropical cocktails paired with light poolside snacks, including fresh ceviche and fish tacos. Sea bass "divorciado" and other fruits de la mer celebrate Ibiza's rich port history.

By day, swimwear, sun and cocktails set the vibe and as the sun goes down over the island, fresh cuisine turns into more (and more) cocktails. At night, UP transforms into an intimate spot for lavish wines, classic cocktails and aperitifs. Loungers provide a hideaway for guests to cozy up for a nightcap under the stars, or as a place for friends to gather before heading out into the night. For those that choose to stay, UP is open until the wee hours, hosting a series of mood-setting DJ sets and intimate acoustic sessions.

Casa Privada

One block from the hotel, Casa Privada serves the pleasures of a stylish private residence for the well-kept and well-travelled — a haven to escape scandal, or create it. With 14 individual guest accommodations, five floors offer different types of modern rooms including two Terrace Suites with outdoor tubs. Offering the experience of a spacious private home within the city — but with all the perks and access to the main hotel — it's the ideal choice for a partial or full takeover for families and friends. Casa Privada is the perfect crossover between hotel and residence, with maintained privacy including a dedicated rooftop pool and bar, gym and private lounge only accessible to guests of the Casa.
