Mercure Bukhara Old Town

Accor continues its expansion in Uzbekistan with the signing of the first project in Bukhara

Accor, a world leading hospitality group, announces the signing of a cooperation agreement with Ayvan Palace LLC to open a new Mercure hotel in Bukhara. Mercure Bukhara Old Town will welcome its first guests later in 2022 and offer all the benefits of Mercure's highest international standards of service, including the opportunity to become a member of the loyalty program ALL - Accor Live Limitless.

Bukhara is one of the most ancient cities of Central Asia located in the delta of the Zeravshan river, at the center of Bukhara oasis. It is a museum town with more than 140 architectural monuments dating back to the Middle Ages. The amount of ancient buildings remains high, and the historic center has outstanding significance as an exceptional example of a medieval Muslim city in Central Asia and has been inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List. Today Bukhara is an important cultural center and a popular tourist destination thanks to its restored monuments and traditional crafts such as gold embroidery and metalwork.

The new Mercure Bukhara Old Town will be located in the Old Town of Bukhara, on Samarkandskaya street, close to the main sites of ancient Islamic architecture: caravanserais and madrasahs. The magnificent Lyabi-Hauz architectural complex formed with three monumental buildings and the Poi-Kalyan architectural ensemble are within a few minutes' walking distance from the hotel. Those who like oriental bazaars and the authentic shopping experience will appreciate the proximity of three trade domes in Bukhara - Taki-Sarrafon, Taki-Telpak Furushon and Taki-Zargaron Bazaar are only 8 minutes away from the hotel.

Mercure Bukhara Old Town fully embodies the brand's philosophy "Locally inspired", showcasing elegant design inspired by local culture and telling its own unique story. The design project was developed by the famous Bukhara architect Zoirsho Klychev. Many details in the architecture and interior design of the hotel refer to the history and cultural heritage of this region.

The hotel will offer 57 rooms and a wide range of services to meet the guests' expectations. The hotel infrastructure will include a wellness center with a swimming pool, hammam and sauna, a modern fitness center, as well as a restaurant, a bar and fully equipped meeting rooms for business events.

Mercure in Bukhara is scheduled to open later in 2022.
