Faern Arosa Altein, is a charming lifestyle resort located in Switzerland's natural paradise, preserved in the national park of Graubünden. Having launched in December 2022, the property is open to guests throughout the year, ideally located to access the 225 kilometres of ski slopes in the winter, as well as hundreds of biking and hiking trails in the summer.

The brand name Faern has evolved from the German 'Feiern', meaning "to celebrate", and the English 'fern', an icon of mountain flora. Faern seeks to make every encounter a celebration; a joyful fellowship through the design, service, and familiarity. Built to craft caring encounters, whilst also inspiring and stirring the senses, travellers will experience a playful rebellion where spaces have been harmoniously curated to offer creativity and quality time.

Standing on a hillside with magnificent views of the white mountains and frozen lake, Faern Arosa Altein is part of the wider lifestyle collection of Faern Resorts, a new hotel brand dedicated to creating high-altitude living destinations with innovative food and beverage concepts in some of the most loved Swiss mountain resorts. This property sits alongside Faern Crans-Montana, which opened in February 2023, and will be joined by Faern Sils Maria and Faern Wengen later this year.

Designed by the award-winning interior design studio, Run For The Hills, Faern Arosa Altein is their first full-hotel commission. They worked collaboratively with Faern Resorts to restore the entrance lobby, reception desk, breakfast buffet, as well as the property's rooms, suites, bars, restaurants and communal areas to showcase a modern mountainous charm. Designed as a sociable haven for guests returning from a busy day on the mountain, the contemporary alpine interiors feature tactile upholstery, sheepskins and cosy woollen armchairs. Tailored mesh panels, ribbed glass column lights and antique brass fittings add an urban twist to the hotel's modern charm.

The property's design includes nods to art nouveau in the form of a Wes Anderson-inspired wooden reception desk, as well as scattered Slim Aarons artwork throughout; complementing the charming, retro village it sits within.

Faern Arosa Altein's rooms and suites vary from double rooms to family suites, offering either unobstructed mountain or village views - ideal for couples, friends and families as well as those travelling with dogs. Designed by Run For The Hills, the suites showcase a sense of 'grandeur', spotlighting the high altitude location with characterful curves inspired by boutique hotel concepts. Mindful to be in keeping with nature's surroundings, the design is minimalist and understated, yet celebratory and bespoke. The decorative palette is organic and rich with timeless tones accentuated by the cosy, fresh and textural upholstery, and Swiss-designed throws and rugs. In collaboration with Faern, a design language was created for the suites which enable them to effortlessly flow into the spaces of the hotel to maximise guest comfort in every sized room.

Located on the top floor of the hotel, boasting panoramic mountain views from every table, Faern Arosa's Alpensand is an all-day dining experience. Guests can enjoy the a la carte menu for lunch and dinner, as well as local larger and winter-warming cocktails; the perfect way to wrap up a day on the slopes. The light-filled indoor drinks-and-dining space extends out onto a magnificent balcony with uninterrupted views of the valley and village. DJ sets and live entertainment are scheduled each week, making this a must-see destination for both hotel guests and non-residents.

Alpensand channels 1970s decor, updated with alpine-inspired wallpapers from Mind The Gap's TYROL collection, cosy Romo upholstery and a vintage collection of tongue-in-cheek mountain resort artworks by Slim Aarons. These are paired with cushy velvet sofas and deep, comfortable armchairs to provide a great spot to socialise and relax with friends. The menu offers a variety of daily specialities and sharing plates inspired by traditional Swiss dishes with a modern twist, overseen by Executive Chef Daniel Manzoni. Hero dishes include baked veal dumplings, saffron risotto, and homemade chestnut taglierini. Faern's signature cocktails include the 'Stiff Pickle', Faern's take on a Whiskey Sour, the 'Under the fig tree Negroni', featuring a fig-infused gin, and the 'Hipsters Esperro Martini' using a coffee-infused rum in replace of the classic vodka-based cocktail.

Open for guests and visitors from 12 - 10pm.

Alchemilla Parlour Bar, the hotel's lower ground level social lounge set within the historic panelled Library Room, provides evening drinks, inventive cocktails and small plates for guests and locals. A beckoning, sumptuous space with richly upholstered cocktail armchairs, black veined stone drinks tables and group nook sofas, Alchemilla is the perfect spot for retiring after dinner. In keeping with Faern's spirit of joyful celebration, creativity and playful rebellion, the art is full of personality, channelling the spirited style of 1970s alpine fashion photography and surreal collage.

Kastikas Lois, the hotel's Bar Manager has curated a tempting selection of cocktails, including the popular 'Anamnesis' crafted using infused peanut butter Bourbon mixed with grapefruit juice, plump bitters and strawberry jam.

Open for guests and visitors from 5:30pm - 12:30am.

Open to half-board guests at the hotel, Zus Brasserie showcases a traditional Swiss breakfast buffet, offering a plentiful self-service cuisine under a decorative statement tree that celebrates the full height of the arched ceilings, framed by the swirling marble staircase. During dinner, guests will be welcomed by a variety of healthy and hearty dishes made with local swiss ingredients.

Open for guests for breakfast from 7am - 10am, and dinner from 6pm - 8:30pm.
