tristar Hotels Expands with ibis Styles Brand in Wörgl
The PKF hospitality group has found an operator for the new hotel project in Wörgl.
tristar Austria GmbH will operate the planned hotel under the ibis Styles brand as a franchisee of Accor. The hotel is part of an innovative district development in the centre of Wörgl, being realised by Thurner Immobilien Gruppe in partnership with Sparkasse Kufstein, with a total project volume of around EUR 100 million. The project aims to sustainably revitalise the region and provide new momentum for urban development in Wörgl.

New Building on Historic Ground
On a site measuring approximately 6,800 square metres - previously occupied by ageing hotels and office buildings - a modern new hotel will be constructed, offering 104 rooms and 230 beds across around 3,800 square metres of usable space. The construction is part of the broader "Wörgl Mitte" project by Thurner Immobilien Gruppe and Sparkasse Kufstein, which aims to establish a new city centre in Wörgl.
The development includes a shared underground garage with two levels and a total of 321 parking spaces. Of these, 155 spaces on the first level will serve as a public garage, available to the general public. By setting the buildings back from the streets, additional turn lanes can be added for optimal access to the underground parking directly from the main intersection at B171 near the church.
In addition to the hotel, Thurner Immobilien Gruppe is also developing office spaces, apartments, and dining venues. The new Sparkasse building will house the bank branch and offices, as well as apartments, exhibition spaces, a café, and a sky bar.
During the architectural competition - in collaboration with the city of Wörgl - special attention was given to creating areas for community interaction and events, wide pedestrian pathways, and inviting public spaces. Only around 40% of the site will be built on, with the remaining areas dedicated to public access, seating, green spaces, and event use. Outdoor dining areas are also planned to further enhance the area's appeal.
Project Timeline
Development will begin in 2025 with the demolition of existing buildings. Construction is scheduled to start in 2026, with completion expected by the end of 2027. The grand opening of the hotel is planned for Q1 2028.
