The Cooper

The Cooper Now Accepting Reservations Ahead Of Early 2026 Opening

Perfectly placed on the scenic Charleston Harbor, The Cooper is now accepting reservations for overnight guests starting March 1, 2026. As the city's first luxury waterfront hotel on the peninsula, this 191-room property is set to redefine hospitality in Charleston, the South, and beyond—offering an unprecedented urban hotel experience.

Just steps from Joe Riley Waterfront Park, The Cooper will offer 191 luxurious guest rooms, including 20 suites, thoughtfully composed by Champalimaud Design in collaboration with Atelier Kim, to reflect the charm of Charleston's meandering waterways. Inspired by the elegance of a coastal Southern home, the interiors will feature a serene neutral palette, wide-plank light oak floors, and classic shiplap wall paneling. Many rooms also feature private balconies—perfect for soaking in the breeze and taking in waterfront and downtown city views.

This coastal property will offer guests an array of exceptional amenities throughout their stay, including four distinct food and beverage destinations:

  • The Crossing: As the hotel's signature restaurant designed by Meyer Davis, The Crossing is inspired by the timeless tradition of setting sail and charting new waters, gathering flavors from Mediterranean coastlines and weaving them with local ingredients and Southern hospitality. Helmed by Executive Chef Nick Dugan, who also holds the role of Executive Chef at Sorelle, the signature restaurant will feature 196-seats, waterfront views, a private dining room and chef's table, along with a large circular bar and raw bar to complete the exquisite dining experience open to both locals and hotel guests.

  • CurrentBurger: Sitting at the edge of Joe Riley Waterfront Park, CurrentBurger will be a modern twist on the classic soda shop, offering an all-day menu of smash burgers, fries, fountain sodas, hand-spun milkshakes, and soft serve ice cream. Guests and locals can order from a convenient walk-up window or enjoy the nostalgic yet sophisticated interior, featuring counter seating, a jukebox, and retro design elements like patterned terrazzo floors, custom ceramic wall tiles, and channeled leather banquettes.

  • Cooper Coffee & Wine: Overlooking The Cooper Marina, this all-day café open to all will seamlessly transition from a bright, elevated coffee and breakfast destination to a warm, intimate wine bar by evening. Cooper Coffee & Wine will blend the relaxed charm of coastal living with the refined qualities of a European boulangerie.

  • Bar Marti: Perched on the fourth floor overlooking the harbor, Bar Marti will be a lively, guests-only poolside bar and dining destination. Offering light, fresh fare and handcrafted cocktails in an open-air setting, it will be the ideal spot to unwind under the sun or stars.

For wellness seekers, The Cooper will offer a 7,000-square-foot Spa at The Cooper, featuring bespoke treatments and active recovery offerings such as red light therapy beds, cryotherapy loungers, experiential showers, and compression sleeves. Additional standout amenities include an on-site marina with a fleet of luxury vessels—including an iconic Hinckley yacht—available for guest excursions, dinner cruises, and private events; a rooftop infinity pool with cabanas and sweeping harbor views; and personal concierge service to anticipate guests' every needs.

The Cooper will offer an unforgettable setting for one-of-a-kind events and group experiences—including weddings, meetings, and milestone celebrations. With more than 20,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, this waterfront retreat accommodates everything from intimate board meetings to grand gatherings. Highlights include the 4,000-square-foot Grand Lawn for open-air events of up to 400 guests, a refined 5,655-square-foot Ballroom with harbor views and flexible layouts, a versatile Salon for groups of 10 to 100, and an intimate Boardroom featuring sweeping river views.

As a BHC property, hotel guests will also receive access to other entities within the brand's portfolio, including flagship property, The Charleston Place; the multi-level Italian restaurant concept, Sorelle; a new community greenspace in the heart of downtown Charleston, American Gardens, and more to round out the urban hotel experience.
