Scheduled to open in late 2028, InterContinental Port Moresby will be the centrepiece of a landmark mixed-use development in the heart of the capital city's diplomatic precinct and the seat of National Government.
The 179-room hotel will be located moments from the National Parliament House, the Supreme and National Court, Key Central Agencies of Government, and several foreign embassies - perfectly positioned to welcome visiting dignitaries, business travellers, and international guests.
InterContinental Port Moresby will offer a collection of exceptional facilities including an all-day dining restaurant, specialty restaurant, lobby lounge and pool bar, alongside more than 600 square metres of meeting and event space, a Club Lounge, fitness centre and outdoor pool. The wider development will also feature approximately 6,000 square metres of office space, creating a new commercial and social hub for the city.
InterContinental Port Moresby will join IHG's growing presence in PNG, which includes Holiday Inn Port Moresby, Holiday Inn Express Port Moresby and Crowne Plaza Residences Port Moresby. The addition of InterContinental strengthens IHG's position as the largest international hotel operator in the country, with a wide-ranging portfolio covering many market segments.
The signing continues the regional and global growth of IHG, one of the world's leading hotel companies, renowned for its sophistication, heritage and cultural connection. Across Australasia and the Pacific, IHG's Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio includes 16 open InterContinental hotels and 2 pipeline properties, contributing to a global presence of more than 230 open hotels, with another 100 in development.
