Development Pipeline Scheduled for Q4 2028

Novotel Cuenca

Novotel Cuenca Advances with an US$8 Million Investment and Marks the Beginning of NexGen Hospitality’s Expansion Strategy in Ecuador

Development of Ecuador’s first Novotel is moving  forward as one of the country’s most significant new internationally branded hotel  investments. With an estimated investment of US$8 million, the hotel will feature 74  guestrooms and will become one of the first major projects supporting NexGen Hospitality’s  growth and expansion strategy in Ecuador’s hotel sector.

Novotel Cuenca will be part of AURUM Distrito Urbano, a mixed-use development  representing a total investment of approximately US$25 million. In addition to the hotel,  AURUM will include a Banco Guayaquil location, 80 residential units under the BOREAL  brand, a commercial and gastronomic plaza, several rooftop spaces and more than 250  parking spaces.

This integrated environment will allow the hotel to benefit from a dynamic combination of  residential activity, services, gastronomy and urban experiences.

Construction has currently reached approximately 40% completion, and the hotel is  scheduled to open during the fourth quarter of 2028.

Novotel Cuenca will incorporate the RF Studio room concept, designed to respond to the  evolving ways in which guests travel, work and relax. The property will also feature  restaurants, social areas and gathering spaces, with wellbeing and wellness integrated as  an essential part of the guest experience.

Interior design is being developed by Colombian firm Interior1, with a concept aimed at  combining Novotel’s international standards with an identity connected to Cuenca and its  positioning as a destination for culture, nature, quality of life and hospitality.

The hotel and its hospitality operations will be managed by NexGen Hospitality, an  Ecuadorian operator specializing in the development, structuring and management of hospitality projects. Its operating model combines international standards, local market  knowledge, service excellence and a long-term approach to asset management.

The First Step in a Broader Expansion Strategy

For the development group, Novotel Cuenca represents much more than the  development of a new hotel. It is the starting point of a strategy aimed at progressively  expanding NexGen Hospitality’s presence across different destinations in Ecuador.

The company is currently identifying and structuring new hotel development and management  opportunities, with the objective of building an Ecuadorian hospitality platform capable of  participating in owned developments, partnerships with investors and real estate developers,  as well as projects associated with international hotel brands.

The strategy seeks to capitalize on opportunities emerging in different cities and destinations  across the country for professionally managed hotel products aligned with the latest trends in  the hospitality industry, particularly in segments related to business travel, wellness,  nature, experiential tourism and higher-value stays.
