Shaner Hotels Announces Opening of 80-Room Hampton Inn by Hilton Columbia Downtown in Pa.
Officials of Shaner Hotels, an award winning, international hotel owner, operator and developer, today announced the opening of the 80-room Hampton Inn by Hilton Columbia Downtown in Pa. Operated by Shaner Hotels, the property is owned by the Murphy Hospitality Group under the umbrella of Cimmaron Investments, leading a broader revitalization project in Columbia.

“With the opening of the Hampton Inn by Hilton Columbia Downtown, Shaner Hotels continues an eventful summer with our fourth hotel opening since June,” said Elias Thompson, regional vice president of operations. “We continue to seek growth opportunities in strong secondary and tertiary markets with multiple business and leisure demand generators and look forward to additional announcements in the coming weeks.”
Originally built as the now historic Becker Potato Chip Factory, the pet-friendly hotel is nestled along the Susquehanna River in downtown Columbia, which is located within the gentle rolling hills of Lancaster County, Pa., at 12 N. Second St. Local attractions, including the Turkey Hill Experience and the National Watch and Clock Museum, are within walking distance. Harrisburg, Pa., the state's capital, is located a mere 28 miles from the hotel. Amenities include a 24/7 fitness center with Technogym equipment, EV charging and complimentary, daily hot breakfast. The hotel also provides flexible meeting space and will house a new restaurant scheduled to open in Spring 2027.
