Shenandoah Mansions, an Ash Hotel

Shenandoah Mansions is a 73-key conversion of a six-story redbrick apartment building in Richmond’s Fan District just off Monument Avenue. Exuding old-world charm through cinematic interiors showcasing Richmond influence and references to local myths and legends, the building’s upstairs will feature bright and airy guestrooms and suites while the first floor hosts a slate of common spaces. 

Richmond native and two-time James Beard Award semifinalist Chef Brittanny Anderson has been announced as the culinary partner, overseeing three concepts: Daughter, the signature restaurant; Phone Inn, a drinking parlor; and Shenandoah Café, a more casual all-day concept open from breakfast into the evenings. Shenandoah Cafe will open alongside the hotel, with Daughter and Phone Inn opening in early 2027. The property will also host a curated gift shop and intimate exterior garden. 

This will be Ash’s first property in Virginia and fifth overall, joining a portfolio that includes Neptune in Providence, RI, Hotel Peter & Paul in New Orleans, The Siren in Detroit and Ulysses in Baltimore.
