Overseeing the launch of the new Corp Executive Hotel Doha Suites is Fathey Atwa, a seasoned hotelier with extensive experience in the Gulf and Egypt as well as former general manager of the Coral Cosmopolitan Hotel Cairo.
Prior to joining HMH – Hospitality Management Holdings, Mr Atwa worked for four years in Saudi Arabia, having transferred to the Kingdom from his native Egypt where he had a varied career starting as a food and beverage executive with the Marriott Hotel Cairo, as well as including a stint in airline catering and as a boat manager aboard a Nile cruiser.
He began his career in hospitality training at the Hotel Institute in Alexandria, and also worked for two years as a teacher at the Hotel Institute Luxor, an establishment he later returned to working for two years as head of the food and beverage department.
In Doha, Mr Atwa heads up a dynamic team that aims to position the Corp Executive Hotel Doha Suites as a value accommodation option as the Qatari capital embarks on a massive expansion of its hospitality sector in the run-up to the FIFA World Cup, which will see investment in infrastructure alone through to 2014 total US$140bn.
