The globe-trotting German national has spent more than 20 years in the Middle East, ten of those years based in the UAE, from hotels in Ajman to Abu Dhabi. His career in the Arab world began with a stint in Cairo in 1980, returning to the country a number of times throughout his career. He has also spent a period in Bahrain and two separate spells in Jordan, one of those years working as a personal chef for King Abdullah II. For the last seven years Chef Winfried has worked as Executive Chef for two Kempinski Hotels in the UAE. His wanderlust was not restricted to the Middle East, however, and he has also spent periods working in Scotland, London, Cyprus and Moscow.
The appointment of Chef Winfried is set to provide a further boost to the hotel's already thriving food and beverage outlets, which have become an institution on the Dubai evening entertainment scene.
