Bruce has left his native South Africa - where he was managing the Sun International Zimbali Hotel and Country Club - to manage the Abu-Dhabi hotel, which is his first appointment with Millennium & Copthorne. Bruce joins Grand Millennium Al Wahda, bringing with him over 10 years of hospitality experience from a variety of roles with Radisson Blu, including most recently as General Manager of Radisson Blu Hotel and Park Inn on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. In his new role, Bruce will be overseeing the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of the 844-room hotel as well as utilising his hands-on management style to deliver the highest standards of service. Commenting on his appointment, Bruce said: “Grand Millennium Al Wahda plays an integral role in Abu Dhabi society and I am looking forward to leading the dynamic team to drive the continued success of the property. These are truly exciting times for Abu Dhabi as it grows and develops at an incredible pace and I’m fortunate to be a part of it.” Millennium & Copthorne’s flagship Middle East property was in Abu Dhabi and the company has stated that they plan to open 50 properties within the next three years in the region, including four new Saudi properties and four in Dubai.
