Kai Schukowski has earned a promotion and will lead the Kempinski Hotel Ajman as its general manager. In his new role, Schukowski will continue overseeing the entire operation in line with the owner’s expectations at Kempinski Hotel Ajman. Commenting on his appointment Schukowski said: “I am thrilled about the new challenges ahead, and very confident that our passionate, young and driven team, will continue to rejuvenate the hotel and build on the success of 2015. I am deeply grateful to Kempinski and our owners for giving me such a unique opportunity to prove myself and lead a five-star hotel at such a young age, which motivates me even more to prove them right.” The German national joined Kempinski’s head office in Geneva, Switzerland in 2009, where he was involved in the strategic planning, as he worked in close quarters with the company’s COO. Following a two year stint in that role he moved to China and took charge as the regional operations manager of all Kempinski hotels there. In 2013, aged-26, Schukowski was appointed as hotel manager at Kempinski Hotel Ajman, the brand’s first property across India, the Middle East and Africa. Schukowski will not be new to the job as he had assumed responsibility as acting general manager, when long term regional president and general manager Ulrich Eckhardt resigned following a 17-year stint with Kempinski in November 2014.
The brand is counting on their youngest-ever GM to inject the property with his youthful outlook, fresh approach and lead the hotel through to a challenging 2016.

Kai Schukowski is an alumnus of EHL Hospitality Business School .
