Montage Hotels & Resorts has announced the appointment of Gustaf Burman as senior vice president, information technology. An accomplished technology executive with over 20 years of global experience building and managing domestic and international teams, Gustaf is responsible for developing and executing the technology strategy for the company. Gustaf joined Montage from Morgans Hotel Group, in New York City, where he rose from vice president of technology to chief technology officer, responsible for all technology, loyalty, customer relations management, and call center operations and strategy. He also led the implementation of global cloud strategy for finance and human capital management systems, developing guest- and associate-facing technology standards and developing a new loyalty program. Previously, Gustaf spent 18 years in management and senior management roles with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc., based first in Stockholm, followed by Brussels, then finally in White Plains, NY where, as senior director, global property technology, he had direct oversight of back-of-house tactical and strategic technology solutions for over 1,000 hotels around the globe. Gustaf studied business administration at Lund University and political science and economics at Stockholm University.
