Christian Knerr has been appointed as Executive Chef at The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain

The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain announces the appointment of Chef Christian Knerr as the hotel’s new Executive Chef, firmly placing the property on Middle East’s culinary map. Instrumental in the The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain’s culinary offerings and the Ramadan menu, Knerr will overlook the hotel’s diverse global culinary offering, bringing his expertise to the eleven international restaurants and lounges including Cantina Kahlo, La Plage, La Med, Plums, Primavera and Nirvana. Having previously worked as the Executive Chef of Harrod’s London, the international renowned chef also brings with him an array of global experience and influences from the U.K, Dubai, Indonesia, Philippines, Tunisia, Turkey, Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Among his profile, Knerr was the Executive Chef at the pre-opening phase of the InterContinental Hotels Group in Dubai Festival City. He also was the Executive Chef of the pre-opening team at the Fairmont Raffles Hotel in Manila in 2013 before joining Harrods. Introduced to the culinary world at the age of 16, Knerr started his journey on a training programme in Reit im Winkl in his home country, Germany. Shortly after completing his training, Knerr launched his career in Switzerland’s fine dining restaurant Le Grand Chalet followed by an experience on board of a large cruise liner. Knerr’s successful culinary career was inevitable from the natural passion he displays for cooking, and his aptitude for culinary expertise. On joining the Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain, Knerr comments:
