InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has appointed Harriett Type as the new director of marketing at Dubai Festival City.

She will oversee marketing communications for the InterContinental, InterContinental Residence Suites, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn located in the mixed-use development of Dubai Festival City.

Type transferred from the historic Crowne Plaza Dubai. She has spent 13 years working in the region, having originally moved to the UAE to work for Jumeirah Group as a brand manager. She has been a stalwart of the Dubai hospitality marketing scene, serving as the director of communications for the pre-opening teams for both Fairmont Bab Al Bahr and Fairmont The Palm, before joining the Fairmont Raffles Hotel International regional office as regional director of partner marketing Middle East, Africa and India.
