Laura Dorner

Plantation on Crystal River - a hidden gem on Florida's Nature Coast - has selected Laura Dorner as new director of sales and marketing of the 196-room resort. Dorner's responsibilities include shaping and executing all sales and marketing strategies for group and leisure markets; developing new programs to maximize opportunities and exceed revenue goals; management of the public relations and advertising initiatives of the resort; and overseeing the performance management, coaching, recruiting and selection of the sales team.

Prior to joining Plantation on Crystal River, Dorner was a sales executive with Villages of Citrus Hills, a private, gated community in a nearby neighborhood. Before that, Dorner was the sales manager at Black Diamond, a luxury golf course in Citrus County, where she developed and fostered the popular "Stay and Play" program. Her additional experience came from positions in North Carolina, where she worked as director of sales for Scotch Hall Preserve, a resort-golf community, and Cisco.

A graduate of St. Cloud University in Minnesota, Dorner is a 10-year veteran of the sales and marketing industry. She is also USKids Golf Coach Certified and a member of the LPGA Amateur Golf Association. A native of Minnesota, Dorner has two children and enjoys kayaking and golfing.
