Rogier Braakman

Penta Hotels is delighted to announce its new managing director Rogier Braakman. In this position he is succeeding Eugène Staal, who served the brand as president for over two years.

Rogier (43) took up this position on 1st February 2020 and brings with him a distinguished record of success within the industry, since his graduation from Hotelschool The Hague in 1999. He began his career with several management positions, both on property for The Ritz-Carlton Atlanta as well as at corporate positions within Hilton Hotels and Landal GreenParks. Rogier then embarked on a 12-year entrepreneurial journey, building up Sandton Hotels and Pillows Hotels from scratch. Through visionary leadership and a start-up mentality, Rogier and his team grew the company to its current portfolio. Since his departure in the summer of 2018, Rogier took on a 'hotel sabbatical' and began consulting and investing in a number of tech start-ups in the Netherlands through his co-founded private equity vehicle NoCeiling.

Penta Hotels is known for making bold moves and challenging the status quo. Its hotels attract guests in both corporate and leisure sectors with a fuss-free service approach and a relaxed lifestyle vibe. With a strong entrepreneurial spirit and an efficient centralised operating model, Penta offers an alternative to the stiff, boring and outdated products often found in the mid-scale market.

Additionally, every Pentahotel walks the extra mile and takes an active role in its local area. The hotel teams help tackle social and environmental challenges and since late 2018, Penta Hotels as a group has spent more than 1,700 hours on community based projects such as helping out the less fortunate by donating soups in wintertime with their "Souper Heroes" initiative.
