Vusal Ismayilov has been promoted to Director of Sales & Marketing at The Ritz-Carlton, Doha
The Ritz-Carlton, Doha has promoted Vusal Ismayilov to DOSM. Ismayilov has had a stellar year at the property, overachieving his department goals during his stint as director of sales.
Hailing from Azerbaijan, Ismayilov worked in the country's hospitality sector for many years, starting as a guest service officer for Hyatt in Baku in 2008. In 2010 he was made night manager before joining El Resort Hotel in Gakh as director of rooms that same year.
Taking his first step into the Marriott portfolio, he would join JW Marriott Absheron as manager on duty in 2012, moving up to guest relations manager a year later. By 2014, he was made event sales manager of the hotel, marking his first sales and marketing role.
By 2017, he was senior groups and events manager of the hotel. In 2018, he left Azerbaijan for the first time for an acting DOSM role with Doha Marriott Hotel. When he joined the Ritz-Carlton Doha in 2019, he quickly made an impact.
He developed the sales strategy to increase ADR YoY (up by 28 percent in Q4 2019 & Q1 2020 vs the same time last year).
