Robert Butler has been appointed as Executive Vice President at Sage Hospitality Group

Sage Hotel Management, a Sage Hospitality Group company, announced today that Robert Butler will return to the company on Sept. 12 as Executive Vice President, directly overseeing The Upscale and Premier Collections. Butler left Sage in 2018 after an impressive 14-year tenure in various operational leadership positions, culminating in his role as Senior Vice President of Operations.

In his new role, Butler will have total oversight of Sage's Upscale and Premier Collections, which encompass more than 40 soft-branded, branded full service and branded upscale hotels in 14 states. In addition to directly working with a portfolio of properties, he will direct a team of seasoned and accomplished leaders including Brad Robinette, senior vice president of special projects, Steve Santomo, vice president of the Premier Collection and Maryam Seifi, vice president of the Upscale Collection.

Butler's career in hospitality spans more than 30 years, where he has consistently demonstrated the ability to lead hotel teams to deliver exceptional performance. He returns to Sage after spending nearly four years at Crescent Hotels as Executive Vice President of Operations, during which time he oversaw a portfolio of more than 100 hotels and grew revenue by nearly $200M in his first year alone. Outside of his focus on delivering meaningful results, Butler is dedicated to nurturing long-term partnerships with various ownership groups, growing and mentoring talented hoteliers and creating career paths for associates while driving superior associate engagement.
