Thomas Meier has been appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Jumeirah Group

José Silva's immediate replacement at Jumeirah Group has been confirmed. Thomas B. Meier, who was appointed COO at Jumeirah in 2021, will take on the role of interim CEO, the company confirmed to Hotelier Middle East.
Silva announced his departure from the Dubai-based hotel group in an internal email sent to staff. He spent five years as CEO, during which time he aided in the global expansion of the group and the launch of guided tours at Burj Al Arab Jumeirah.
Meier has more than 20 years of luxury hospitality experience. He was previously SVP of operations in Asia for Minor Group for half a decade. Minor brands include Anantara and Avani. Before that, he was VP of hotel openings and integration for Europe, MEA and APAC for Fairmont Raffles Hotels International.
He spent close to a decade at Raffles - one of Accor's most luxurious brands - first as regional VP Asia and general manager in Singapore, and then as VP operations global.
Much like Silva, Meier was brought into Jumeirah Group to aid in its expansion outside of the Middle East.
