Mahak Sharma has been appointed as Hotel Manager at Holiday Inn & Suites Festival City

Holiday Inn & Suites Festival City has flown in Mahak Sharma as its latest hotel manager. Sharma joins the Dubai hotel from her home country of Australia where she was also a hotel manager.

Sharma has more than 16 years of experience in hospitality and has travelled to numerous countries thanks to the industry.

First an intern in 2006, she worked with Taj Exotica Resort & Spa in the Maldives; later chosen as a corporate leadership trainee and moved to Hyatt Regency in Delhi as a club manager. She would later rise to assistant manager of the front office at the same hotel, working there for eight months.

In 2010, she returned to her home country, working as an assistant manager of front office again, this time at Grand Hyatt Melbourne. After more than four years in the post, she helped open the Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek Heights Hotel and Residences as its front office manager.

Here, she helped establish brand standards for the entire hotel and acted as the liaison with owners. After a year, she was made assistant director of rooms and then director of rooms thereafter. While in the role, she spearheaded day-to-day operations and worked alongside the GM to uphold and implement goals and strategies.

Her most recent role was as hotel manager of the Hyatt Place Melbourne for close to 18 months.

Mahak Sharma is an alumnus of University of Huddersfield – Class of 2008.
