Christian H. Muhr has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Hospitality at The Heart of Europe

Dubai's Heart of Europe has appointed a dedicated CEO of hospitality. Christian H. Muhr has been chosen for the role, ending a 40-year career with Hilton to join the long-delayed island hospitality project.

Heart of Europe is planned to house 15 hotels across six islands, all of which are named after a different part of Europe. Hotels include the Côte d'Azur Monaco hoped to open very soon; the family-friendly Portofino hotel; and the Marbella hotel where staff will speak fluent Spanish and the Euro will be the officially-accepted currency

Muhr's career with Hilton began in the 1980s, working his way through various management positions with Hilton Vienna. He then became F&B manager with Hilton Berlin; followed by EAM in charge of F&B at the Nile Hilton.

Continuing to travel the world, he came EAM at London Hilton Park Lane and then GM of Hilton London Olympia by 2000.

Familiar with Dubai, he was cluster GM of Hilton Dubai Creek, Hilton Jumeirah Resort and Hilton Dubai Jumeirah Residences for 10 years.

He then served as VP of operations for Hilton in Egypt and Levant and was most recently VP of operations full services hotels in continental Europe.
