Manuel Levonian has been appointed as General Manager at Crowne Plaza Muscat

The general manager from one of Oman's most historic hotels has moved on. Manuel Levonian is now GM of Crowne Plaza Muscat, ending a near-decade-long position at the Crowne Plaza Resort Salalah.

The latter is one of the country's oldest luxury hotels, first opened in 1977. Levonian joined the hotel in 2013, helping push it into a strong financial position as the rest of the country's hotel sector struggled.

Crowne Plaza Resort Salalah had closed a fantastic year achieving all metrics and guest experience targets set through great leadership, teamwork and combined efforts of a team to achieve a shared goal. For the last 12 months, Levonian has shown significant achievements. He is described as a great leader who has gained the trust and confidence of hotel owners.

Now with the Crowne Plaza Muscat Oman, the move continues Levonian's long career with IHG in the Middle East. Before Salalah, he was general manager for two years at one of the operator's Holiday Inn properties in Saudi Arabia. In total, he has been with IHG for almost 13 years.

Before IHG, Levonian spent 13 years with Starwood, joining in 1997 and holding a wide range of positions during that time. He worked with The Luxury Collection, Sheraton, Westin, and Four Points by Sheraton in different countries such as Dubai, Lebanon, Syria, and Saudi Arabia.
