Marriott veteran Erkan Karatas has joined Al Bustan Palace, A Ritz-Carlton hotel as general manager.

Karatas started with the group back in 2001 and joins the Oman hotel from The St. Regis Istanbul where he was general manager since 2019.

During his time with Marriott, he has also held management roles at The Ritz-Carlton Moscow, The Istanbul EDITION, The Ritz-Carlton Herzliya, The Ritz-Carlton Astana and JW Marriott Hotel Ankara.

The hotel group says he has a solid track record in leading and mentoring numerous hotel openings including The Ritz-Carlton Guangzhou, The Ritz-Carlton Vienna, The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi Grand Canal, Bulgari Hotel London, and Bulgari Hotel and Residences Dubai.
