Andrew O’ Brien

Queensway Group, a developer and management platform for hospitality brands, has appointed Andrew O' Brien as Development Director for Point A Hotels as well as the Sloane Club and Sloane Place.

O' Brien brings over 30 years' property and construction experience to the role. He started his career in quantity surveying and project management consultancy before pivoting to hotel development for the likes of De Vere Group and VUR Village Hotels & Leisure.

He joins Point A Hotels at a time of rapid expansion, with the hotel group aiming to grow the size of its estate by 100% in the medium term. Central to this - and falling under O Brien's remit - includes relaunching Point A's King's Cross site, overseeing the extension of the Canary Wharf property and in Dublin, adding two new floors to the existing hotel on Parnell Street and construction of a new 95-room hotel at The Liberties.

Key to O' Brien's approach is merging comfort with functionality, and ensuring the guest experience is optimised, whilst remaining aware of cost and environmental impacts. He approaches design with a modular view i.e., what design features can be replicated across many properties easily to ensure hotels offer the best guest experience.
